Who: Matthew & Sebastian Where: Tulane Medical Center When: June 12, 2pm What: Matthew comes to Sebastian's room to thank him
He looked at the scribbled notes again as he walked down the hallway on the second floor of the hospital.
Room 240... helped me find room.
This floor was far more lively than the one where his exam had been. Visitors and perhaps some patients as well were scattered here and there along the hallway and he could hear chatting from the open doors he passed along the rooms. It was a welcome relief from the behemoth of a machine he had spent almost an hour inside: loud, hot, and alarmingly tomb-like.
Besides wanting another chance to thank the man who had saved him from being late for his appointment, he just wanted to talk with someone before going back to the emptiness of his apartment. Maybe it would also dispel some of the worry of waiting for his doctor to review the scans and give him his results.
Angel with black wings...
Besides, he was curious what a man with wings would be doing in a hospital. Was it because of the wings? He hadn't looked particularly ill.
Matthew realized he had been walking without looking at the door numbers and hastily looked around.
243... 242... 241... 240.
Now that he was standing in front of the door, his determination ebbed. What should he do, what should he say? The door was open a crack and he thought he could see someone on the bed. Was Sebastian asleep, or had he already seen him? It would seem foolish to turn and leave if Sebastian had noticed him standing at his door...
Timidly, Matthew raised his fist to the door and rapped lightly with knuckles. Maybe it would be just enough to get Sebastian's attention if awake, or just enough to escape if asleep.
