It was the early hours of morning when Delora had woken up for the first time in the chair at Ben's bedside. She didn't remember actually falling asleep but she had obviously exhausted herself since she found the chair a little uncomfortable but nothing she wasn't willing to put up with if it meant getting to stay in the room with Ben. She sat with Ben for a few minutes when she first woke up and watched him sleep, she'd heard him stir a few times in the night but he still wasn't quite awake yet. She stood up and took his hand again, she just held it for a moment with her eyes closed; the worst of it was over, Ben was safe and still alive. She pressed her lips against the back of his hand before she lay it down again and left the room trying to be as silent as possible.
Delora crept up the stairs trying not to wake up Icarus or Esras, she knew her brother had only gone to sleep an hour or so ago and had to wake up in another hour to do his rounds...she had a feeling he would not greatly appreciate being woken up. When she got into to bedroom she shut the door behind her and laid down on the bed. She just needed to rest for an hour or two in something that wasn't a chair before she could hop in the shower and change into clean clothing. She just needed to get herself a little more put together before she went back down to him. She was actually a little bit more put together than the night before, she wasn't a teary mess anymore and that was certainly a step up but despite the logical evidence that told her she could rest now her body still felt sick with anxiety and fear.
When she went back down stairs she stopped in the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee and toast before heading into Ben's room. Just outside Ben's door she stopped and took a deep breath before stepping inside. She entered quietly not knowing if Ben was awake again or not and moved her chair back to his bedside, Icarus had obviously been in here it was tidy and there was a pitcher of water with two glasses on the bedside table. After getting settled in Delora slipped her hand around his again ready to wait patiently until he woke up, she'd promised she'd be there.
