MISSING MAGIC: MAGITIS MYSTERY
By Octavia Birch
St. Mungo's Hospital For Magical Maladies and Injuries have recently reported a wide influx of patients who appear to be missing their magic. An insider has given an exclusive interview to the Daily Prophet, informing the general public of this information at great personal risk.
It has been noted by this reporter's inside source that aside from being utterly drained of their magic, patients are otherwise in good health. Though it is not clear as of yet what the source of patients' depleted magic may be, the illness has been noted to be impacting magic users at random.
Since the weekend, St. Mungo's Hospital has been inundated with witches and wizards alike, all suffering from the mysterious illness. It appears as though it does not matter whether one is old, or young, healthy or not, pureblood or muggleborn; all are susceptible to the illness.
The Daily Prophet have inquired as to
the symptoms of this mysterious illness, labelled simply as Magitis, but have not received a clear message as to what they may be.
Patients suffering with signs of Magitis are reported to wake up one day without their magic. Their wands do not respond to them, and their home wards no longer recognise their existence, leading to some instances of homelessness in those suffering.
While many patients with Magitis symptoms appear to have their magic returned to them within seven days, there have been some witches and wizards who report to have had their symptoms ongoing, for a month or more at the time of writing.
The Daily Prophet's insider at St. Mungo's has advised the general public not to worry or fear, but rather to seek treatment should they find themselves with a case of Magitis.
