THE DAILY PROPHET All the news that's fit to print Friday, July 20, 1997
Minister Scrimgeour will issue a public statement about the hostage situation in Diagon Alley later today, and the Daily Prophet, your source for the news of the moment, has an exclusive preview. According to Mr Shacklebolt of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, the cause of the wards trapping hundreds of wizards in Diagon Alley is still unconfirmed, although foul play is strongly suspected. "The fact that Apparition is disabled is a strong indicator of powerful magic," Shacklebolt told this reporter. "We cannot say for sure whether He Who Must Not Be Named is involved."
It has now been five days since the unexpected turn of events, and authorities are no closer to a solution. Fortunately owls can still enter and leave Diagon Alley, so the wizards therein are in no danger of starvation; unfortunately, if this is the work of You Know Who, he could massacre them at any moment. In this time of dire need, we must all await word from Minister Scrimgeour, and assure the trapped wizards that our thoughts are with them. |
