Action Scene: Home Calico Home

Andromeda carried her grandson as she paced through the living room. Where was her daughter and Remus? They should have been back hours ago. She hoped that nothing serious happened to detain them from seeing their son. Teddy whimpered and Andromeda cooed at him.

"There's nothing to be frightened of, my sweet. Your mum and dad will be here."

	She nodded absentmindedly, opening the door. She couldn't believe that a few hours ago, according to the Lovegood girl, both she and Remus were dead. And now they were alive. Tonks had to be strong. She was an Auror and she been through many dangerous missions before. Of course, she had survived those missions, but to be technical, didn't she survive this? Yes she died, she could recall her aunt Bellatrix's wand and a flash of green light, but she was alive now. That was what mattered. She had her mum, Remus, and Teddy.

"No, not Harry. He's alive and well." Tonks stepped back from her mother and took a deep breath. She could do this. "Mum, Remus and I died."

	Tonks winced and wanted to shake Remus for leaving her to explain everything. "Well, you see," she began. "We did die. Last night. Aunt Bellatrix killed me. Another Death Eater killed Remus. We died." She gave a nervous laugh. "And now we're alive. Surprise!" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Andromeda opened her mouth to scold her daughter for trying to scare the wits out of her when she heard tapping at the window. "Stay there and, and, stay there."

She went to the window and opened it for the owl that flew in. Lifting her hand, she untied the message attached to its feet and gave it a treat before turning her back to open the message. "Who could be sending me a letter so early in the morning?" Then she saw the Hogwarts insignia, and her heart dropped.

Her eyes scanned the letter quickly, small hiccups escaping her mouth. Remus John Lupin and his wife Nymphadora Tonks Lupin....died in battle...very sorry for her losses...

Andromeda couldn't read any longer. She looked up and met Tonks' gaze. "You died."

"Yes, I would certainly say so." She smiled weakly and kissed Tonks on the cheek. Perhaps if Lily and James Potter could find their way through the Veil, there was hope for her Ted to come back to her. Even if it took him years, he would return.

"You two must be so tired. Let me make some breakfast and you can spend some time with Teddy. He's been missing his parents."
