Dear Mr. and Mrs. Weasley,

We are dreadfully sorry for the loss of your son. There is nothing worse than the pain of losing one's child and there are no words I can say to console you. I have enclosed with this owl a few gifts. It is not much, but I would like you to accept them.

My son and I will be at Fred's wake and funeral to stand with you and your husband for support. I know that our families have been at odds with each other for years, but with You Know Who's death, I believe it is time we start anew. There is no use in futile hatred when there has been so much loss in our world.

Dearest Cissy,

Bella is dead? When did this occur? The last thing I had heard about her was that she had broken out of Azkaban two years ago. Did she perish in the final battle? ~~I hope she did. She was more psychotic than Mother in her pureblood beliefs!~~

Is it so hard to grasp that I'm alive? I assure you that it had nothing to do with luck or love of He Who Must Not Be Named. I have lost my dear husband, Ted, during the war, because of your people and their wretched beliefs about what constitutes a wizard. That is something I cannot forgive easily. However, I am willing, albeit grudgingly, to make small steps in reconnecting our family.

As much as I hope this is no trick, a small part of me is screaming not to attend. However, I will be in attendance, providing that Nymphadora, her husband, Remus, and their son, Teddy will be extended an invitation as well.

Bella died at the Battle of Hogwarts. Molly Weasley, of all people, killed her. She is currently resting in the Malfoy mausoleum.

It has been a long time since I've last spoken to you in any form. Your husband died and so could have you. Or any of us. War does not discriminate who lives or dies.

We are the only ones left of the Black family and I know that doesn't mean much to you when you ran away with him so many years ago, leaving your engagement to Lucius to fall to me, but it does to me. ~~Are you even aware of what mother did to punish Bella and I for your betrayal? I still have the marks~~ This year made me realize how important family is and you, despite everything, are family.

Bring them. They are family too, are they not? There is no trick, only cold weariness.

I had no idea that Molly Weasley killed Bella. Might I visit her and possibly leave some flowers by her space in the mausoleum? It seems the least I could do after half a lifetime of estrangement.

Very true, war does not discriminate. Just today I read the obituaries from the final battle in the Prophet. It is almost unbelievable that it could have been any of us.

He has a name, Cissy. Ted was a wonderful man. ~~Far better than Lucius, if I may be so bold to add. I'm glad I didn't marry him.~~ I have no knowledge of anything that transpired after I ran off with him, as mother refused to speak to me. Rumor has it I was blasted off the family tree. I wouldn't blame Mother or Aunt Walburga one bit if they did. Like you said, we are family, and we might as well give our children the chance to know each other.

I'm sure you would love Teddy. He is just like his mother. Today he turned his hair from bright turquoise to midnight blue!

You may if you wish. Bella is dead. She won't care either way.

She did blast you off the family tree, just like she did with dead cousin Sirius. At least she died knowing two of her daughters made pureblood marriages.

Yes, I am aware he has a name. He still stole you away from us and for that, I can never forgive him.

I am sure I would. ~~You are fortunate to be a grandmother~~ He is a Metamorphmagus? Most interesting.

I would like to make amends, that is all. No need to be snippy about it. I don't regret running off and eloping with Ted. His parents never forgave him for marrying a Black ~~once they found out what our family believed in~~, just as much as our family will never forgive me for marrying a muggleborn. What's done is done and it's in the past. Let's not dwell on it any longer and start anew.

Yes, he inherited his mother's abilities. As I write, he's currently changing nose shapes. He's quite a talented little boy.

I would like that as well. It is probably for the best if we do not speak of these things when the pain is still so close to the surface. Neither of us have had an easy time of it.

How lucky for his parents, and grandmother, of course. I cannot wait until the day Draco takes a mate and the Malfoy manor is once more filled with the sounds of little feet.

So we're both agreed; let's forget the past and move on. I will be honest for a moment and say that I do miss the old days, when it was just the three of us without a care in the world, until the arranged marriages started. We were inseparable in childhood. Sometimes I wish we could be that way once more.

It's a wonderful experience to have a baby in the house again. I hope you get to experience it soon. I feel so old when I say that I'm a grandmother. I can't believe I'm the first of us to claim that title!

	Cissy, That would be most wonderful. We should plan a shopping trip to Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade one of these days. I can't imagine having a brood like the Weasleys. How do they manage with seven, er, six children? I think I would have pulled my hair out in frustration! Nymphadora alone was a handful. I only hope that Teddy takes after his father. 	Cissy, Ted was very much against owning house elves. I was never too fond of them myself. There's something off about their obsessive attitude toward their masters.
