Jubilee heard someone at the door but didn't move, half-hoping that any undesirable presences would simply vanish if she didn't acknowledge them. But it was Kevin and, against all odds, it cheered her up. She lit up, grinning, and looked him over. She liked having Kevin back in the mansion, it just felt right. He had a harder time of it than almost anyone, Jubilee knew, although she wasn't entirely sure why. Except for his powers. His powers, obviously, sucked the big one.
"Not at all," She said, now feeling kind of shlubby in her sweat pants and old shirt, despite the make-up she'd reapplied after her shower. Her hair, newly clean and shiny, was loose and unbound, as it rarely was in the greenhouses.
"Come hang out." Jubilee gestured vaguely at the tv, "You can put on something else if you want, I just wanted a little caped crusader in my day."
"But I warn you," She added, her face playfully conspiratorial, "I'm kind of crappy company today."
