He was hard pressed to bother staying upright while Josh was gone, but he managed. He figured once he laid down it would be too hard to make himself get up and leave.
"Wow, you really do...do sound like my mom," he teased, breathless but not coughing for once. He wasn't sure when it had stopped being hard to think - or talk - about his parents, but it wasn't an issue any more. He took the tablets from Josh and looked at them for a moment, still only half-convinced they wouldn't just dissolve the second he put them in his mouth. Still, Josh had said they wouldn't, so he fumbled one out of the bottle, tossed it back and took the glass of water to chase it down, blinking in surprise when it went down without a hint of ash.
"Wow, um...thanks." He smiled faintly at Josh and offered him the glass back.
