Mac scoffed as she heard Charlie throw her own words back at her. "Well, this initially all started just so I could get back at someone, but today, today happened because you lied to me," she bit through clenched teeth. She was admitting what she didn't want to even be feeling in the first place.
She needed a bit of distance from Charlie. She couldn't think straight, her mind tended to cloud over whenever she was around him, and a nag in the pit of her stomach appeared and she didn't like any of it.
Although Mac couldn't reach her lighter or her knife, it was foolish of one to think that Charlie truly had her pinned. Mac's men had taught her a thing or two about getting out of tight situations like these, and she knew just how to use the island as leverage. So she place one foot at the base of it and a gave a hard shove back, using all of her weight. At the same time, she placed her other foot behind Charlie's for him to trip on. As soon as she felt the slightest ease on his grasp, she went for her knife and flipped it open, ready for his next move.
