“I’m not…” Windchaser trailed off. “I’m not selfish enough to ask you to stay, it’s about much more than me…Than us, but this time, you know where to find me, and that…I love you, or I loved Alle, and I’m perfectly willing to give Ryder a chance.” She looked down as she felt a tear win the battle to roll down her face. She didn’t want him to see her cry, just as she hadn’t the last time. She had always wanted him to think them being separated hurt her so much.
“And if you see Alle out there, tell him that Ellie said hi...And please, don’t get yourself killed.” Windchaser tried to keep her tone light and teasing, but her voice shook and she couldn’t look at him. The tear had remained singular, but more threatened, and she knew once she began to cry, stopping wouldn’t come quickly, or easily. “I sh-should go, you’re still busy, and since everything…I always am.”
Windchaser finally lifted her eyes to his face, shining with unshed tears. “I shouldn’t ask this, but I have to…Come back to me.”
