Gemini grinned. She knew exactly what Shadow meant by distractions. It was so much easier to focus on other people's problems than her own... but since Gemini didn't really know about anyone else in this town, or about their problems, she didn't currently have that wonderful balm. She sighed and shift her position, leaning one shoulder agianst the cool concrete of the wall. It was very comfortable, sitting here in the shadows and having a civilized conversation as the rain went wild outside...
"I hope I'll be staying long... but you never know, these days... It really all depends on the first impressions I make. Things with Libby are awkward, to say the least, but hopefully she'll listen if I try to talk to her... Hopefully a relationship can blossom out of so much trauma... And Wolf seemed to welcome me with open arms, although I think Callum made a better impression on him than a filthy, exhausted drifter did... The only other person I've met is you. And you seem like an incredibly sincere person, so I wouldn't be lying if I said we were friends, right? Lord knows, one friend is a blessing for me at the moment..."
Gemini sighed, dreamily. Horses! What a blessing that would be! If she could get a job working for the ranch, she would have a solid reason to stay! More solid than Libby, most definitely...
"You say there's a farm? Well that answers a lot of questions... I was wondering where you got all of your fresh food... But ti gives me a little hope when you say they have horses... I doubt your tribe has a resident leather-smith, am I right? I can make anything from bags to britches to bridles... and if I have a few weeks, I can whip up a pretty decent saddle."
Gemini's eyes glowed with excitement as she thought through all of the possibilities. Then, abruptly, her cheeks colored again as she thought about how cocky she must sound. Bags to britches to bridles... Geez, Gem, she's gonna think you're a braggart...
"Anyways... It would be absolutely priceless if you found out that any of your friends have even the small scraps... I'll probably check out the junkyard this afternoon... I'm sure there'll be some old cars that I could salvage from. Leather seats are invaluable these days... By the way... how many tribes are taking advantage of this area?"
