Watching Jace with the various children at the Christmas gathering had nearly melted Bishop's heart. She'd already been dead stupid in love with him, but somehow seeing him act like that around kids made it even worse. It was a side of him she'd never known he had. Sure he was nice to her, but she'd always suspected that that might have had something to do with the fact that she could hurt him back. He'd been a whole new kind of nice to a bunch of random kids, who had started to idolize him after the first coin trick. That was really something, yet it was also one of those things that Jace would never find out that she thought. "Are you implying that I'm a scoundrel?"
Ignoring that skeptical look, she leaned in to kiss him. He was right about that. There wasn't anything about Jace that she'd want to change unless he decided to grow a moustache. She loved him just the way he was, even if she had no intention of ever letting him know that. "Fair enough."
Letting go of his hand, she folded both of her arms under her head and stared up at the ceiling. Did she had a New Year's resolution? There were several things that she could think of that might qualify, like telling Jace how she felt and not getting caught by the Mountain Lions. Those were so different than the resolutions that she used to make. Losing fifteen pounds and going out more were no longer options. Sighing, she shook her head. "No, I guess not." Bishop turned to grin at him. "Why would I change anything, anway? I'm assuming you like me just the way I am, too."
