Bishop wasn't the kind of person who handled the unfamiliar very well. Which is probably why she came flying out of a dead sleep, her body automatically tensing as her eyes popped open. She had no idea where she was, why she was lying in a bed, or when she'd gotten there. It took a few big, deep breaths for her to get calmed down enough to let her brain kick on. Once it did, everything was still a little hazy. Apparently, all the blood she'd lost yesterday hadn't been very good for her memory. She got the gist of it, though. There'd been lots of running, some shooting, and one stabbing incident that made her right shoulder pretty sore. Sighing, she resisted the urge to keep her face buried in the pillow and go back to sleep. Barely.
Instead, she rolled over, running her hand over the opposite side of the bed. When she didn't hit any bodies, she assumed that Jace was already up. That was even more motivation for her to get up. Bishop didn't want to seem too lazy, even though every bone in her body protested movement of any sort. She pushed herself up with a groan. It was kind of dissapointing to wake up and find him gone. Even if she wasn't quite used to it, she enjoyed the feeling of waking up with someone else's body pressed up against hers. For the last two days, she'd missed out on that. At the very least, waking up today was way more pleasent than the day before. No one was waving a knife at her. Not yet, anyway.
Bishop raked a hand through her tangled hair as she swung her legs over the side of the bed. A quick glance told her that she hadn't bled through her fresh bandages. The day just kept getting better and better. She stood unsteadily, her first few steps kind of wobbly. Once she'd gotten her balance, she hobbled toward the bathroom. Maybe after she brushed her hair and washed her face she'd feel slightly more human. She pushed open the door, and nearly ran smack in to Jace. Blinking, she stumbled back a step, still not awake enough to be fully coherent. Her voice was even more raspy then usual, due to a combination of rest and yesterday's cold. "Oh. Hey. Morning."
