Week 25 -- Sunday
WHO: Izzy and Blaze
WHAT: She has an idea that she wants to share
WHERE: The halls of the hospital
WHEN: Late afternoon, after the start of the rain
RATING: PG?
STATUS: Incomplete
Izzy had been lying down in her new bed in the hospital, simply staring up at the ceiling and surrendering to the imaginings of her own mind. But the pitter pat of the rain on the roof and the windows made it harder to concentrate on what was going on in her mind's eye. One minute, there had been visions of the Blue Midnight circus running through her mind, with everything from the fortune tellers, to the fire dancers to the contortionists...and the next minute, she was only seeing the drab white of her ceiling. She made a mental note that she'd have to make things a bit more to her tastes in the room. Perhaps paint things in some vibrant colors, or find bits and pieces to decorate and make things more Izzy. But that would, obviously, have to wait until the rain was no longer falling and making a mess of things. With a rather feline stretch, she sat up in bed and just sat there for a moment, looking at the little ripples and swirls that the rain water made on the window pane. What could she do with herself if going outside would only succeed in getting her drenched? Perhaps entertain the kids a little bit with some acrobatics? The very first time she'd started practicing in the one of the more spacious areas of the hospital, she drew a little crowd of diminutive spectators. It could be fun to do again.
With a sigh and a bit of an idea, she hopped out of bed. She pulled a tank top on, if only for the sake of covering up around the kids. Though some had already proven to be intrigued by the roses climbing up her right side. The rest of her was hidden beneath a favorite pair of leggings. She didn't bother with shoes, because what she had in mind had no need for them. The halls of the hospital were long and some of them were very much vacant most of the time. So why not get some more practice in to keep herself limber? Staying flexible was important for her. Especially with her new line of work. It didn't take long for her to get into things. Once she was out the door, it was just natural to let her body move as it would. Whether that meant taking a few steps and then getting into a handstand and walking a few steps on her hands, or doing little bouts of tumbling down the hall. It just felt good to move. Too good, even. She was grinning from ear to ear as she passed a group of kids in the hall who asked if she could do some of her tricks again. Izzy couldn't say no to those little cute faces. And besides, she actually liked bending and twisting herself like she was a human pretzel. It was kind of funny to see the kids' shocked expressions at some of the things.
And that was when it struck her. She missed being able to do her true craft in front of people. Working at the Palace was all fine and dandy, but it wasn't the same. There she was doing things that were completely elementary in comparison to the things she could do. Her true skills had been able to shine only in the circus. Only with Blue Midnight. Would it be so bad to have the circus come to town again? After all, the Carrion did have their own resident carnies anyway. It would be fun to try and resurrect that which she, Blaze, Hazard and Mystic had held near and dear.
Izzy was smiling that characteristic Cheshire grin as the idea struck her to find Blaze and run it by him. Surely he wanted to fire dance again. She would have called him crazy if he didn't. So, she started looking around for him, asking where he was. A couple of the kids mentioned that they'd seen him on the first floor, so she made her way there, all the while calling his name. "Blaze?" she called out, and of course his name was steeped in that ever so charming accent of hers. "Come out, come out wherever you are..."
