Some people collected rocks, or rare insects, and some people observe birds. Hawk observed women. Oh, how he enjoyed just watching women, and because of this, he had come to the conclusion that every woman was beautiful. Most obviously were the sexy women (much like Perri), who are most likely going to appear in the fantasies of any man of any age. Then you had the earthly beauties, like Gaia, Moe, or even his sister. They were real women, comfortable enough with their bodies and appearance to not need make-up to give them confidence or security. The ethereal beauties, like Gypsy, Nova, or Lily, were always interesting. Like pixies, you could never really tell when they would show up, but when they did, all eyes were on them. They had a natural grace to their walk and their speech. And, of course, there were the girl-next-door beauties, like Aryn or Darla.
Watching Ruby, Hawk could not quite decide if she was a girl-next-door or ethereal. She seemed average enough, but she had that walk...and those entrancing, laughing eyes.
"It's a good thing, though, that every day isn't like today. I'd never get any work done," he replied lightly. Ok, so he very rarely got any work done anyway. But that did not mean he was lazy. He worked when it really counted. "So where are you headed?"
It would be a shame for Ruby to just waltz off. It was indeed a lovely day, and why shouldn't he spend it with a lovely woman? But that was the sensible side of him talking. Base instinct was telling him to turn on the charm and work the magic. His attempts had failed with Nova at the Halloween party. To put it nicely, he very much wanted to enjoy the company of a woman.
