Kenji had been in the area for a little over a month or more, and had been to the trading post before but he wasn't sure as to what was considered normal for it. He'd almost lost track of how long he'd been in the area. He was so focused on staying near Sumi that he tended to lose track of other things. Anymore every day seemed just like any other, which wasn't too far off from how his life had been at the family compound. Duty, after chore, after duty. It was a constant job, and one that he wanted to succeed in at the time, but anymore it was just getting tiring.
He wanted to break free of these habits, this loyalty to a dead people who had never really cared for him beyond whether or not he performed as they asked. Yet, at the same time such a life of order and control had been hammered into his nature at such a young age that he found it a constant conflict within himself as to whether or not he wanted to break free.
"I don't know. I'll stay as long as I have to." He wet his lips and glanced away for a moment in thought, before looking back to Christian. "They don't seem to do to bad, but..." he paused for a split second, not sure if revealing that he'd been in New Haven was the best idea, but he went for it anyway. "I was in New Haven before. I don't know if you've been through there, but not too long ago they were doing well. Lots of trade and everything, but it was more or less a dictatorship."
