"Now that there is imagery I could certainly have done without." Because she could picture the two going at each other in just that way, Moe was a bit queasy. Trapped in a cage, just like the rats Gypsy had compared them to, there was no telling what they woudl resort to, should it come to it. The sound of shouts rising over the dull hum of voices didn't come as much of a surprise. Shaking her head, she turned back to Gypsy.
"Well, of course they wouldn' tell anyone about their balls gettin' knocked into their throat, but that don' change that fact that they do indeed know it happened." Because she could, Moe nudged the other girl with her elbow. "Little boys like that prolly get riled up by the thought of a girlie fightin'." Whatever people may think of the River Runners, there was no denying that they lived better than most. With steady trade, and a general lack of warfare, they had as cozy a life as anyone could. Or at least they thought it was cozy, which was just as well, really.
Tapping slender fingers against her chin, Moe's lips curled in thought. "I dunno, hun. The tall one's got the fire in his eyes, but sometimes it takes a cool head t' win a fight like this." Still, a friendly wager wouldn't hurt. "I'll put up two fresh jars of Moe's best against a few of them cigs you picked up today. The tall one'll pummel the other guy." With a firm nod, she turned back toward the cage. Punches had started to fly, but so far, no biting. "Ya know, if one of them rips off an ear, I just might puke. Will that be creative enough for ya?"
The warehouse was brimming with people, the faces that she knew standing out in sharp relief. There was something to be said about familiarity. A few years ago, she'd come to this podunk town without a friend to her name. Now, she had herself a nice slot in a nice little tribe, and a good trade. Once upon a time, she'd have been shot down for the lack of legality in her 'craft'. But now? Well, she brought general glee to the community. And that, as far as she was concerned, made her a big damn hero.
