Bit sucked in a deep breath and felt the tears rushing to her eyes again. It didn't matter to her that this girl knew the entire plan and the truth of who and what she really was. If she was going to be able to pull this off at all, Bit was going to have to start from the very beginning and cease to break character. There was always the chance that she could be caught off guard and there was no way that she was going to let that happen.
She rang her hands together, eyes darting frantically about the open space, her fingers pulling at the cuff of her sleeve as she twirled it around her finger. It was a move that she'd practiced many times, one that could easily tell anybody that she was nervous and paranoid, two emotions that were becoming more real as the minutes ticked by.
"I need to see the leader of the Wolves," Bit told Peri, throwing in a deep cough at the end for dramatic effect. As much as the Wolves preached about not being cruel and treating people with respect no matter drifter or tribe member, she knew that their leader couldn't turn his back on a sick girl all alone in the world. "I've heard stories about them and I need their help. I don't know who they are."
Bit watched for any reaction that Peri might have, fearful that the girl would back down then and there ruining any chance that the Mountain Lions would have of continuing with their plan. Wolf would heighten his security, his eyes would more open and watching for any false move. And Ace would blame her. That was something that she didn't want to happen at all.
Her arms wrapped around her small waist, eyes leaving Peri's to watch the crowd around them talking and laughing and having as much fun as they wanted. Her expression stayed at a constant form of worry and fear, reminding herself that she was good at what she was doing. Bit through in another deep cough, her hand clasping over her mouth before she regained herself. "I'm all alone."
