Sitting in his apartment he took a sip of the coffee from his mug as spoke on the phone to his handler. "Yes, I took the Van Zandt girl out again." Jakob said with a nod as he rested on his couch. "She's a lot more malleable than I originally thought she'd be, just a few compliments and showing any interest and she was blushing and hanging on my every word." Jake scratched his head and nodded. "Yea, I took her up to the lighthouse again, the picnic thing worked like a charm. It was a great plan. I think it might be time to push her to talk a bit more."
Jakob leaned forward and ran his fingers over the rim of his mug as he listened to his handler on the other line. "Yes, I think using the threat of that guard against her is a good way to get her to eavesdrop and share information." He nodded. "She's so quiet, most people ignore her unless she's taking their order anyhow." While he wasn't sure exactly how much intel he could get from her, he hoped that her position in a frequent hang out would pay off.
"I proceed next month. Once things from the storm have calmed a bit. I know she's seemed a bit stressed about that- I don't want to push her too hard she'll break. I have a feeling she'd break in that way pretty easy." Jakob smiled and took a sip of his coffee again. "Yes, I understand you're being reassigned soon. Yea, I'll behave for the new one." Jake laughed, he was a good soldier, but he often questioned orders or pushed his own ideas. Not that he wouldn't follow orders assigned, he just wanted to make sure they were the best plans. He wanted to make sure that he knew the whole plan- or at least every part that involved him. His handler had gotten accustomed to his questions- especially once he realized Jakob would go through with orders even if his questions weren't answered.
