The weight of the other man had definitely grown heavy but Ehren managed to balance him enough that they were making progress toward the apartment complex. A drizzle had started to come down and the walk became slower as he struggled to keep hm moving. When words were spoken, he’d expected them to be angry or belligerent but they weren’t. It was almost as if a supernatural calm had fallen over him. He let a small smile form on his face.
“A fan of rain are you?” He asked with a little bit of a chuckle. “I can’t say the same, my hair is going to be a complete mess once it dries.” And it was probably due for a cut anyhow, he’d grown lazy over the last few weeks and auburn curls were constantly getting to his eyes.
Perhaps it was the best risk he’d taken in a while, taking this man home. He could have easily walked away bloodied and bruised but instead he found a bridge between himself a complete stranger.
