Who: Rahim and Echo Ka'aukai When: Wednesday afternoon where: The facility What: Family reunion Rating: PG-13 for language, maybe?
Rahim was really good at one on one training. He was less good at a classroom type setting. Mostly because this wasn't a text book subject. You couldn't hand out rules that every mutation adhered to. There wasn't anything singular that the people who came for training was trying to learn. It wasn't a combat class; he could rock a combat class. It wasn't a bullshit science class. They all wanted to learn control, and there were a hundred different variations that could lead them to learning that, and it didn't much matter to Rahim which one they chose. Whatever worked for them worked for them, they just needed help finding it.
So most group training segments were meant to strengthen their control around other people. He didn't really like calling them classes. Today though, today he'd decided to help them strengthen their willpower, by putting energy constructed headphones over their ears. The object was that the headphones didn't really exist, and weren't going to exist forever, so it was their minds telling them that they couldn't hear. They needed to will themselves past that until they could hear despite the headphones. It wasn't easy, some of them couldn't. But by the end of the hour, some had managed to hear as clearly as if they hadn't been wearing headphones, so Rahim was happy about it. Willpower was integral to most power use. It was confidence, it gave their control a focus.
He was the last person out of the room, and he left empty handed, tireder than he'd been before the session. He'd expended a lot of energy on the scenario he created for them, and hadn't had time to top it off yet, but he'd feel better once he got outside, and felt the sun. What he saw standing in the hall outside of the classroom stopped him in his tracks. Surprise crossed his face, before anger quickly chased it. "What the hell are you doing here?" Is how he chose to greet his sister after two years.
