The more she talked the wider his smile got. It wasn't that what she said was good. It was more the fact that she was saying it and that she wasn't, in fact, perfect. They had more in common than they didn't at this point. She was right, they were in the same hell and just trying to get through it. He just looked at her for a long heartbeat before leaning over and kissing her, his hand coming up to gently touch her cheek.
After pulling back he smiled again. "I wouldn't be doing it because I have to."
