Who: Jen & open for reaction When: Saturday Afternoon Where: The diner
Jen thanked her table as they left, picking up the small tip. It was much less than she normally got, then again Jen wasn't her normal perky self. Her boss had noticed and tried to find out what was wrong, but she'd just brushed him off and ran to the bathroom to cry. Since then, he stopped trying to get her to talk. As the young girl started to clear off the table, something Quen would normally do, she felt a flash of fear. Her hand clenched tightly around a plate as she realized the fear was coming from Quentin and was stronger than it had been before. She closed her eyes tight, ignoring everyone around her and the person asking for a coffee refill as she tried to focus on Quen.
A flash, he was standing with other people but she couldn't see them. A flash, his hands, bound, were freed. A flash, voices "Go, Run". A flash, she heard a loud noise ring out and felt something hit him in the back.
"No!" Jen screamed as the plate slipped from her hand and broke across the floor. She lurched forward as if punched in the back and fell to the floor. She saw Quen laying next to her, reaching out for her. She reached out too, tears streaming down her face. "Quen." She whispered as she saw the light fade from his eyes and the coldness set in. Then... black.
Laying face down on the dinner floor, reaching out to someone who wasn't there, Jen's eyes lost focus as she stopped moving. Her breathing was steady but when the diners owner ran over to check on her she was unresponsive. One of the other servers ran to get some guards who came over. One of them tried to shake her when the owner grabbed his had and told him to call the doctors.
About fifteen minutes later a doctor arrived and gave her a preliminary once over and determined she was safe to move. It took the guards a second to figure out how to carry her with her wings in the way, but eventually figured it out and carried her out of the diner to a vehicle. The small winged girl was then transported to the Facility where she was put on monitors and under observation. It appeared, she was in a coma. No one was sure why.
