characters: Avery & Jake setting: Detention Center summary: Avery finally goes to visit Jake. rating: pg
A detention center! Avery couldn't believe it when Alec had told her, but she was glad he had. She'd been so worried about Jake and now she at least knew where he was. She could even visit him. It took her several days to work up the nerve - the idea of being around so many other guards and government officials did make her a little uncomfortable. Not to mention, she was just barely starting to feel better physically. So no, she didn't go to Jake right away as much as she wanted to, but she couldn't hold out for long either.
Still covered in bruises that were now a very unflattering shade of yellow as they were starting to heal completely, Avery wore very little make-up in attempts to hide it. Not one to wear make-up all that much to begin with, she wasn't even sure how you covered that much skin to be believable anyway. Her wrist was still broken, but fortunately her ribs were much closer to healed and it wasn't nearly as painful to walk.
When she got to the detention center and past all the different check points and finally into the visitation room, Jake was already there. She tiptoed inside, nervous and unsure of herself. "Oh, Jake." It looked like prison. She felt her heart sort of constrict and she took a step forward, feeling the room. The guards seemed to stiffen when she went towards Jake, and she stopped. She didn't know what the rules were. "Are you okay?"
