She had food with her. New Years was boring on her end, mostly hanging out at the Barracks, doing some 'patrol' whenever they had to, that sort of thing. Mostly it was quiet and she celebrated the evening mostly alone, missing her family and wishing she could have hung out with Rahim. She should have asked what he was doing, but she didn't and there it was. So instead, she had made some food and decided to surprise Rahim with breakfast burritos. They were still warm and everything as she made her way up to his front door.
Before she even got there, she heard it. From the roommate and Rahim, thoughts of their apartment being destroyed, the annoyed edge in Rahim's surface thoughts. Her eyes went wide with fear - even if Rahim was seriously hurt, he wouldn't think he was. She gave a quick knock out of habit before turning the door handle and opening it, letting herself in. When it shut behind her, she locked it.
