"Well if I wasn't already projecting them it wouldn't have been much different. You just would have felt anxious at a different time. Try walking into a crowd of people right now if you really want to test drive Empathy." She said, almost joking. Alec's naturally nonchalant personality was rubbing off on Avery. Her anxiety was easily starting to ebb.
The door popped open and she sighed with relief. Okay, she could at least get inside her apartment now, whether or not she could ever lock it while leaving again remained to be seen. She held her hand out for the bobby pins, gesturing with her free hand towards the door.
"Come in and help me find my keys?" She asked, giving him a very sweet, very sincere, very pleading sort of smile. "Because if they're not in there then I'm going to have to have you teach me how to break into my own house."
