Who: Esther Barnes
What: Contemplating her life and the ring she made [narrative]
When: October 18th, 2019 [backdated]
Where: Tess and Meg’s apartment
Only Meg knew of this new ability Tess had. Born out of fear, anger, and the need to protect her girlfriend, Tess could now move things with her mind. The young woman had surprised herself. But she was thankful to have developed and used the ability when she did.
Now she was lying on the bed she shared with Meg. The pink-haired woman wasn’t home and the blonde was in her pajamas gazing upward as a wooden ring levitated above. Tess wasn’t trying too hard this time as she gently began to make the ring flip and spin in the air as it caught a bit of sunlight from the window. A smile tugged at Tess’s lips as she looked up at the ring and thought of her girlfriend.
The last three months were full of steps - both externally and internally influenced. Disaster, drama, death. They were together and she was so thankful for where they were. Tess kept watching the ring and sighed. There was also nervous, giddy feelings that occasionally bubbled to the surface. But she pressed them back down as she carefully let the wooden ring drop and land in her left hand. Turning onto her right side, Tess closed her hand around the ring and held it close as she grabbed a tissue. Wiping her nose, Tess tossed the tissue in the trash before the settled back down to fall back asleep.
