Finn was sitting on the comfortable armchair in his den, surrounded by his books and one of the places he felt most comfortable and happy. Except this afternoon he wasn’t reading, there was a book in his lap but he wasn’t reading it, instead he was trying to work out a code for one of the latest messages he had received from a member of the Faction that needed to be distributed out but was too sensitive to be left in plain English. It was kind of fun to do, doing it sparked his creativity, although he knew once the coding was done the message needed to be burnt and forgotten.
He was glad that Riley was out with a friend at that moment, although he wasn’t officially part of the Faction proper, his job of acting as an intermediary and coding things still meant that he might be in danger. Finn didn’t really like keeping secrets from Riley but this was one of the things that he couldn’t share, putting someone else in the path of danger was something that he couldn’t do to the man he loved.
After what had happened to Hannah at the beginning of the month he had become super cautious about things, he had an idea that Laura and her husband Caspian could be interested in the Faction but he’d have to ask an official member to see if they thought this family would be suitable. Until then… he’d continue doing these little tasks.
