Daryn nodded in understanding with a faint smile. She barely remembered what it was like to be around a real family, and the replacement one she'd made here felt just as far away these days. But that was her own fault, for not being better, for not doing more, for letting this place and its horrors break her.
She couldn't help but offer a wry smile at the sudden decision and invitation. "Do you always take the advice of perfect strangers? But in all honesty it is a lovely idea. It's very nice of you to invite me." Invitations to socialize was rare these days, and while offhand things were mentioned, she didn't really expect him, or anyone else, to follow through on their pity offers. She just took it as people being nice and left it at that.
