It took an earnest second or two for the man to realize his folly; namely failing to have offered up any sort of proper introduction at all. So when Daryn's inquiry about his sister reached his ears the chef nearly smacked himself for his forgetfulness. "Sorry! Yeah, Zoe Parish...she's my little sister. I'm Adam. Adam Parish. But folks tend to just call me AC."
The remark about the guards drew a sad but knowing look. Her advice to be careful was something he planned to follow, since the last thing Parish wanted was to be attacked again.
Torn between being polite, being passionate about cooking and feeding others to make them happy, it was hard to hold his tongue when the offer was declined. Honestly it wouldn't have really been any trouble at all; since cooking came as naturally to him as breathing did to everyone else. Still instead of pushing further AC smiled warmly again before finally speaking up. "Well the offer is always on the table."
Oddly Adam had never really comprehended just how his abilities worked before arriving here. Hell, even after finding out that his food could heal folks, he still didn't realize that his 'natural talent' for the culinary arts was part of his power too. The quality of ingredients didn't really matter to him; not when the chef could make a decent meal out of even garbage if he needed too. Turning the inedible into a genuinely tasty treat. "I used to have a weekly dinner with my friends back home; all were welcome, and it was a blast trying to come up with new things for people to try. This place is...rough. But maybe a weekly or monthly get together would be good. Delicious food, good company, and all would be welcome." It may have been a naive suggestion, yet it was all he could think of to help brighten the place up a bit.
