As he spoke she watched the readout on a tablet, making notes. Having decompartmentalized the empathy, she read his emotions as he spoke and marked when she felt spikes and what emotion they were so she could see if there was any correlation between his brainwaves with what she felt. She was quiet the whole time, taking notes. When he finally stopped, she looked up at him. She turned off the machine to give it a rest. "Thank you." Zoe was processing a lot and normally would probably ah e clinically thanked him and told him to go again, but the empathic abilities made her more aware of things she'd lost a little of as her powers had come in. "I know that was hard- uncomfortable." She corrected. "You carry a lot of anger about the whole thing." She felt better not to mention the fatigue from his drained power.
"So... let's try it again, same story- same way as much as you can, but try to suppress your emotions." Zoe reset the readout on her tablet, saving the original readings. "And don't worry if you can't suppress them, we want to get a reading of you actively trying so we can determine a course of action." She smiled, trying to be reassuring. Zoe tucked some hair behind her ear and gave him a little nod as she turned the machine back on.
