She watched him in amusement, catching his thoughts, just as she did everyone else on this island. But she made no indication that she could read his mind, she saw no need to. She wasn't going to use it against him or tell anyone what she 'heard.' There was no gain in that.
Her smile faded just as his had and she sighed. "A guard was found murdered there a few weeks ago. The second attacked in a month. At least the first one survived. Or so we assumed."
