She watched the cacophony of emotions play across Adam’s face - the confusion, fear, exhaustion. Kyrie recalled distinctly when she had begun to manifest her own ability though she’d been young at the time and didn’t quite understand it then. Able to empathize, she didn’t offer any pity, only support and strength.
At his question Kyrie would shrug a shoulder though she knew he wasn’t asking her directly. There had been times in her life she wished for the ability to read minds or have all of the answers but she could say she was glad she couldn’t read someone’s mind. That seemed like an awful, terrible ability to have.
Once more Kyrie approached Adam. A hand would go to his shoulder as if offering comfort. Her smile grew a little and Kyrie shook her head at him, “You didn’t,” she offered with assurance. “It happens to all of us sometimes.” Everyone went through exactly what he was experiencing now. “I was very young when that happened to me, I can’t remember what I did but I can remember my father reacting.” The French had slipped from her lips without her realizing it. “He was quite surprised.”
