Emotions erratic and running wild, the normally laid back guy found himself exhausted and conflicted. It was nice, not being in pain any more. Being able to take a full deep breath without his ribs screaming in protest. Plus being able to heal quickly at least sounded better than possessing gills or having his head burst into flames too. On the flip side though; well it was a hard pill to swallow. Especially since up until today Adam figured he was just a normal guy.
Sure his friends and folks back home had joked that his chicken soup always seemed to help them get over a cold better than taking over the counter meds. And a few of his coworkers always wondered how he was in great shape, despite the fact that his job consisted of sampling and snacking on all kinds of dishes every single day. Truthfully though AC had never paid the remarks any mind. Mostly since they had always been said more or less in jest. Though as he gazed down to his uninjured palm Parish found himself frowning anew.
"It can't be me...I mean, if it was me who was healing myself like this, well why didn't I get better right away when they were beating the crap out of me?" Grasping for answers, while trying to keep himself from melting down emotionally, Adam left the knife there on the counter and moved back to stand at the kitchen island where the plates of food were waiting. Without thinking he took another bite of the eggs, and sighed softly to himself before turning his gaze back to his guest. "Sorry. I swear I didn't mean to freak you out or anything. Just wanted to share a meal, and forget for a bit that I was stuck here on the Island. I...I hope I didn't ruin your night and freak you out."
