Just the way her eyes glanced around for any sign of danger spoke untold volumes of just how bad this place must have been. Which only made Kyrie's attempt to help a stranger all the more touching. Especially since a small part of Adam wondered if he'd have been so welcoming if the roles were reversed. Especially if things here truly were as bad as he was beginning to fear. Yet before he could tumble down that mental rabbit hole of self introspection AC slowly stood up at last.
Oh Parish bit his lower lip to stifle the slight groan of protest that his body made at the movement. Still when her smile turned sheepish and he noted that faint flush on her cheeks too, Adam's smile never faltered. Instead of teasing her at all he merely moved to open the door, pausing to warily look inside the strange place for a moment. When it was clear that no one was going to jump out from inside and attack him, AC finally seemed to relax a little more.
"Care to come in for a late night snack? I haven't eaten since I arrived on the Island early this morning, and they made a point of not bringing any food or water while the questioning was going on. I was already planning on fixing myself a little something to eat, but I'd be happy to offer you some food as well." Repaying her kindness with a meal sounded good to the chef. Plus after being forced to answer questions all day, to which he had no answers, Adam was hoping to learn more about this place. And hoping to learn more about Zoe's fate as well, since the guards hadn't told him anything at all.
