Bellatrix had dismissed everyone from Grimmauld, save a few loyal house elves. It was her custom when she had meetings with her nephew that they were alone. The business they discussed was most delicate, and was not for the ears of anything outsiders. The elves were bound to never repeat what they heard or saw when Mistress met with Master Malfoy.
As always, her personal study was neat and uncluttered, and she sat at her large desk in her full regal glory, attired all in black. She was working on both the wording of the new proclamation, as well as expanding the Dark Lord's choices to his preferred pairings. Both were tricky and problematic; she would be glad when Draco arrived and could help her with them.
Her nephew's arrival was announced to her as she crossed out yet another pairing. She instructed the elf to admit Draco to her private study, and to bring the bottle of elderberry wine along with the light dinner she had ordered to be prepared when he arrived. She hoped that Walburga's portrait did not distract Draco when he entered. She grew so giddy when seeing her great-newphew.
