BACKDATED -- Yule Ball Who: Anyone When: Yule Ball Where: Hogwarts Summary: Dancing is so not fun. Rating: PG-13
George wandered down the stairs and into the Great Hall. It looked like someone had taken to exploding fairy's to decorate the place. George sighed. He hated these bloody affairs. Wandering through the crowd of witch's and wizards he came across Katie Bell. She was laughing with someone and he grinned. She looked nice in her pale green dress robes. Very un-Katie like. His eyes wandered the crowd but didn't see Alicia anywhere. He'd planned on asking her but heard she'd already had a date. So he'd decided to fly solo. Evidently Bell had too. He didn't know why. His thoughts were dark as he remembered seeing Pucey eyeing her lately. He wasn't jealous or anything but she was one of his best mates.
"Looking good Bell," he said, plopping down next to her and pulling on an errant curl that had managed to escape from her coif.
Katie grinned delightedly as George sat down. "Hi!" she said, her voice full of excitement. They talked about the lack of Quidditch and casually flirted with one another, laughed as a Slytherin boy fell flat on his face.
"Where's Alicia?" he asked, trying to sound non-chalant.
Katie grinned and raised a brow. "She'll be here soon I'm sure." She nudged him and he frowned. A sappy slow song came on and Katie rolled her eyes. Some Durmstrang bloke was givng her the eye. "Come on," she said, grabbing his hand. "You're my date nowl."
"What?" he asked, as she dragged him throught the crowd. "Why?"
"Cause that Durmstrang boy over there keeps looking at me and he's a right arse," she snapped back.
George let out a sigh and slid an arm around her thin waist. "Fine," he said.
Katie stuck her tongue out at him as they swayed with the music. "Think we should go practice for fun," she said, starting up on Quidditch again.
George nodded, looking over her head for any sign of Alicia.
"I also think you should have your way with me in the middle of the dance foor," Katie spoke, trying not to laugh.
George nodded again, "Sounds good Bell," he said, still searching the crowds.
Katie sighed and stepped on his foot, hard.
"What the bloody hell?" he asked with an accusing glare. "That bloody hurt."
"Stop looking for her. She'll be here soon and you can throw me to the wolves."
George looked sheeping and tugged on her hair again, pulling her closer in a small hug. "Yeah yeah, sorry."
