"Physically!? What does that mean!? Did I have my soul chopped or something!?" Rafe was aware she was freaking out but she couldn't help herself. She knew that there were people out there who could do extraordinary stuff, she was one of them, but there were the good guys and then there were the other guys. If Rupert was one of the bad ones, Rafe wasn't sure what she'd do.
Could she even trust him if he said he wasn't Pro-Entropy? That's what they would say and what if that happened again?
But what if he was like her? She didn't know many of her allies personally. He'd still have sliced at her with a sword but she'd know if she had to power up or not.
As she weighed those two possibilities, she saw the book just nearby. It was flipped open to a worn page, as though constantly turned to. On the page, it read 'Prosecuting Attorney: Rupert Winfred Zeiss'. Rafe's heart skipped a beat.
She quickly picked up the journal before back peddling a careful distance away. She looked at Rupert, swallowed, and said, "Say your name, both first name and last."
