His words startled her out of her thoughts, and she shook herself lightly before lifting her gaze to peer at him. Not a second later, she ducked her head again meekly. She'd seen enough of his closed-off expression to know he wasn't exactly pleased by her approach. But then... what did he want? She was so confused. "Y-yes. Y-you're alone. Like me." She chanced a glance up into his eyes and blinked, seemingly unafraid of the blankness she saw there. Her own eyes were rather too large for her face, and the intensity of her gaze gave a sort of arresting affect. "Do you hate people too?"
