What is being timely
There was someone standing next to her. Inevitable, really, what with the horrendous crowd that had shown up. Clearly these people had nothing better to do with their lives. Not that she did, either, but it would have been mildly disheartening to see that so many people were far too amused by a foolish event like this...if she cared. Which she didn't.
She heard the man sigh, and she caught the word "stupid." At least someone here was honest enough to voice their opinion about the gathering. Really, how many people here were only acting in their excitement about the new year and the circus event. At least, she hoped they were acting and not actually enjoying this hullaballoo.
She scoffed, and waved a hand in the air. "Tell me about it." She didn't look at the man next to her, but addressed him anyway. "Nothing but a bunch of formalities stuffed into a dress with too many frills. It's like some rich woman's cat. Hissing and angry on the inside, stuck in a ridiculous dress. Little does anyone know that the cat is seething because they've put an extravagant, feathery mask over its face that cost as much as a house. Nor does anyone take the time to realize the beast is male."
She rolled her eyes at her own comparison. That was stupid, too.
