At Riff's acknowledgement, Mimi's cold expression melted into a small, slightly crooked smile. It seemed somehow inviting, an effect she'd sought after for quite awhile practicing at a mirrror. A moment later she glanced away. Mixed signals to be sure, but Mimi wasn't positive she wanted to play that game tonight. It was her day off and the young man seemed a bit too frosty to make it worth her while.
Nibbling at the remnants of the strawberry, her eyes landed on a somewhat nervous looking boy maybe a few years younger than her. Perfect. Carrying her plate delicately in one hand, she sashayed her way over to Darren and laughed at his expression. Those big eyes of his were open books. "Hey, the table's not going to bite you. You're a guest, help yourself. If I might make a suggestion..." she smiled a bit sheepishly and raised her plate slightly. "The cheesecake is very good." She watched him for a minute more, then smiled a bit more genuinely. "Are you here alone?" I might as well be. She didn't voice that niggling thought, however.
