"That's a relief to hear." Riff smiled. He noted her nervousness and the part of him that had turned off listening to Florence was becoming aware of the steady drone losing its consistency. A quick side-glance made him aware of the daggers being glared in his direction with an intensity that would have stabbed him a thousand times if the older man could.
Riff focused his attentiveness on Levander. He scratched the back of his head, appearing a bit sheepish. "I'd ask you to dance after the speech but I can't imagine that would go over well with your father. The last thing I'd want to do is get you in trouble again." Too late for that, he suspected, but they were just words and false sentiment that couldn't hurt to add anyway. He lowered his voice and leaned a tad closer, just so only she'd hear. "If you'd like to, you're free to message me online under the username withasingleword. I'd enjoy talking with you again, if you're not adverse to it."
He ended with a friendly smile. A ditz like Levander may forget - she hadn't remembered his name tonight either - but it didn't hurt to keep the door open, for now at least. And with the looks he was getting their current conversation was going to get cut one way or another.
