    No Direction Home;
    [ He isn't really sure where they re, location-wise. Somewhere between a small hick town and somewhere bigger. They use road signs to travel from one place to another, but those were only there every so often, they hadn't been put up for those traveling on foot and weren't there in case of the apocalypse. Point is, they're in the middle of nowhere, and Liam can see the storm rolling in from miles away. It would be fine, if they were going to be faced with just a light drizzle, but the clouds are big, gusty black ones. The ones that mean bright lights and loud bangs. They would be drenched in seconds, and they're nowhere near a proper shelter. Or buildings of any kind, really. Which means they need to think outside the box a little.

    Basically; they need to get into one of the many vehicles left on the side of the road asap. Unfortunately, most of them are locked. (which seems a little funny, as far as Liam is concerned. One would think Car theft would have been the least of these people's worries) He would just break a window to get in, but doing so would defeat the purpose of taking shelter. So, he's stuck trying the handle of every car he can.

    It takes a while, but finally, finally he finds one that's unlocked. He grins and holds the door open for Tony. ]

    After you, my lady.

    Look at all the things we have come from;
    [ The sun on his face wakes him up, and for a second he forgets where he is, wonders if he's dreaming, if the night before hadn't actually happened. But he's holding Tony in his arms, snug against his chest, and it slowly dawns on him that this is real. He pulls her just a little tighter and gently moves her hair out of the way so he can kiss the nape of her neck and breathe her in. He's not really ready to move and face the realities of the world again, not yet. If he could, he would stay here forever, just the two of them curled together in the warm glow of the morning sun.

    Hah. He's such a sap. It's true, though, as corny as it is.

    He kisses her neck again and runs his fingers gently along her skin. It's easy to pretend they're just on vacation. Two people traveling the US together, not out of a need to survive but just to see the sights and go to all those hokey little tourist destinations. He lets himself live in that fantasy for just a moment, because it's so easy to do with the mood so calm and comforting, with the girl of his dreams in his arms. He knows the illusion will break, that he'll have to go back to his life, to finding his sister and getting home to the north, soon. But no matter how guilty he might feel about it later, right now? In this moment? Those things are far from his mind. He's still on an emotional high, and as a result, all he can seem focus on is Tony.

    Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They've both been through so much, it's about time they have something good to focus on. ]

    Hey, [ His voice is soft and gentle as he tucks her hair behind her ear.] You're missing the sunrise.

    ✨ .//. If you lose yourself I will find you
    [ The end of the world and life as they knew it wasn't abrupt like depicted in movies and television. The changes were gradual after the initial panic and evacuations. A stillness fell over the South as people began to accept the reality of the situation, but still, no one really knew what was going to happen. There were no obvious monsters to fight, no natural disasters to outrun, just the creeping contamination making its way steadily North.

    The monsters didn't show up until well after the fact.

    The further North they traveled the more of them they encountered. There were no zombies, no creepers or runners or clickers. There were no aliens, no mutated human beings, no diseased or test animals that had broken free of some lab. There were just... people, desperate, broken, selfish people. People pushed to the edges of their coping capacity, people who had lost, or been lost, cut off and seemingly abandoned by the rest of the world and seen as a threat to the safety of those behind their walls. Honestly sometimes Tony had a hard time staying optimistic about their chances, but with Liam's sister still missing she refused to give up. Nerves were starting to wear thin and even with as open as they were with one another there was still a sense of emotion that had been rubbed raw and exposed to daylight by their recent (and not so recent) ordeals. Stumbling into the city that night was the best thing that had happened to them in a long time.

    Once again it seemed they were straggling behind. Much of the lower floors seemed to have been ransacked. How high up it went she didn't care to guess, but if there was anyone left in the building they were more afraid of the two of them than anything else, because not once did she get the feeling that anyone else had chosen to stay there. Tony couldn't quite decide just how to feel about it. There was a tired sense of excitement, there was a simple relief to be able to stay somewhere with a bed. She was wary that they'd be surprised when they woke up in the morning or the middle of the night by some gang of squatters who'd decided to make home in the pent house like some bad Mad Max, Water World kind of story, and there was also a sudden, fierce sense of homesickness for the bustling streets of New York- or even just to see this place milling with people quietly coming and going from their rooms and the elevators and the lobby. Seeing those areas so quiet was chilling, but seeing them torn apart by looters was even more so. There were probably still treasures to be found for the pair of them if they looked, even if any food would have long since been spoiled and any sort of valuables would be worthless. These days it's supplies that have become the new currency, especially food and medical, fresh, clean water. Still, with a building this large Tony is confident that they can get more than a good night's rest out of staying.

    Once their bags have been tucked away out of immediate sight (just adding to the illusion that they're simply a couple of travelers stopping for the night rather than two survivors in a world gone mad) it starts to sink in as it always does when they make camp. It's okay to begin to wind down now.

    With that in mind Tony finally allows herself to sink slowly to sit at the foot of the bed, actually letting out an appreciative, weary exhale as the mattress and cool bedding sink under her weight. She might seem to be relaxing but her eyes and her thoughts are on Liam. A silent question is in her eyes and she's just reading his mood and his mental state before she decides if she wants to give it voice or not. How is he holding up? What must he be thinking about right now? He's been stressed lately, she knows, worrying... Depending on what she sees will decide what course of action she takes next. ]

    This was a really nice idea... [ She offers him a small, tender smile, hoping he isn't feeling too beat up right now, already wondering what she can do to make it easier for him. She has to hope that her family had stayed put, but poor Liam... he knew for sure that his sister wasn't somewhere safe when this all happened, hence them trying to find her. ]

    Shut up and dance with me;
    [ It seems like these days, the list of things Liam doesn't want to deal with has just been growing and growing. First the end of the world happened a few years back, then there were all the states closing their borders and turning into warring city states. And now? Now he's getting beat up on a regular basis. Not that it's quite as severe as the end of the world, but hey, it's still not the most pleasant of experiences. It's like he's decided to take the worst possible course of action and repeat it every few days. But really, even though he should have given up a long time ago, he doesn't have any other choice. He has to find his sister.

    Liam pats himself down, to make sure nothing's broken, and sighs to himself. Man, the world has gone to hell. He still doesn't completely understand what's causing things to die off and become an uninhabitable wasteland, but he supposes knowing wouldn't change much. He just needs to make sure his family is safe. Which is why he's down South getting his ass handed to him, looking for his sister. She had disappeared years before the apocalypse, back when she had been getting into all kinds of bad things, and even though he hasn't completely forgiven her, they're family and Liam plans on bringing her home no matter what it takes. He promised his siblings he would.

    Gingerly, Liam touches his lip, to see if it's stopped bleeding. It hasn't. which is unfortunate, but he just hopes it doesn't get infected.

    Hearing movement, Liam looks up from where he's sitting. He doesn't really move for cover or tense up, he doesn't see much point in it, but when he sees it's a girl he's actually a little surprised. Lately, all he's been running into are muscle-bound, manly-man brutes. ]

    Hey! [ He waves and smiles, trying to look as amiable as possible. It's a hard thing to acomplish when you look like shit. (Okay, okay, so maybe that's an exaggeration. He just has a split lip and a few faint bruises. It's not nearly as bad as it could be) But given his relaxed posture, he's pretty sure she won't see him as a threat.

    At least, he hopes not. ]
    Do you happen to have any Peroxide on you? Or Alcohol? I hear that stuffs good for cleaning things up.
