She watched her father closely. None of the rest of the family was as easy for her to understand as Ludo, but she could usually gauge their moods. With her father it was a bit more difficult, because he really usually only seemed to have two settings: at ease, and furious. She didn't mind. There were fewer hidden traps than with Nicolette, who could turn any conversation into a minefield.
Lydia sighed and watched the silver chain twist. She ran a hand through her still-glittery hair and gave his question some consideration before she answered. She knew something was still missing for her brother, but it wasn't their sister. She was afraid the nowhere in his head would take his heart too, but she couldn't explain that to Gunnar, no more than she could explain her visions or her mother's moods.
"Things have been... quiet. Ludo is better, I think." She bit her lip. "I've stayed in a few nights, but... I don't know, papa. I'm not very good at knowing things. No one's broken anything, anyway. It's all like we're waiting around for something, but no one remembers what. I'm used to not remembering the right things, but it's an odd to see other people act that way too."
