"Your Majesty, I don't think we can—." "Don't think we can what?" Nicolette eyed the little man who was trying to dissuade her from the grand ball she was wanting to throw little more than a week's time. Ever since her brother's return to the palace, the Matriarch had wanted to throw a huge party. She was excited to have her brother back with her and even more-so over the fact that her family was back in one piece. She wanted to put the entire last two centuries behind her and fake the whole "happy family" routine in order to fool herself into complete happiness. It was a noble idea that she was trying to pursue, even if it was foolish. The gentleman cleared his throat as the room seemed to get a little warmer and a whole lot scarier. All it took was that certain look on the Queen's face for him to know he was treading thin ice, "I don't think we can put together a party that is to your standards in such a short amount of time." "Complete and utter lies," Nicolette wanted to throw something at this man who denied her what she wanted. "Have you ever watched 'reality' television shows? Fools like that can put together whole events in 48 hours. I'm giving your entire office ten days to put together a party for me. Ten bloody days!" The last statement had force, both from her voice and her illusion skills. After all, she was the queen. If she wanted to throw a party, then she should. "Do you have any," he hesitated as he tried to ask of details that he had no clue of, "suggestions... for the theme of your ball, Majesty?" The gentleman looked so nervous and she smiled happily as he gave in to her demands. "I want a masquerade. I want everyone to play dress-up and join the royal family for a party." "Everyone, Highness?" "Everyone," Nicolette nodded. "All of Inora should be able to celebrate the return of my family to the palace and the throne. Everyone should cheer and be merry. Otherwise... there'd be no reason for a party." |
