This is a friendly reminder that there are 9 days left til all fics are due - January 10. Please remember that not only is your recipient counting on you to get your story done in a timely manner, but everyone else is as well - the author reveal won't happen until there's a fic for everyone.


I'll take this opportunity to remind you all of some of the guidelines:

*Fics should be at least five hundred words.

*Fics must be spell-checked and, if possible without giving the surprise away, beta-read. lore or significantowl will be happy to beta for you if needed, or find you someone who will.

*Gifts will be posted by you, using the journal jolly_old_elf to preserve anonymity. You received the password with your assignment, and jolly_old_elf exists on IJ, LJ and JournalFen with the same password on each. This means you are responsible for posting your own Gift anonymously. If you produce an R- or NC17-rated piece this year, post it in the Elf journal at JournalFen and the a link to the post in the LJ and IJ dearsanta communities.


Be sure to take advantage of the "track post" feature on LJ (and possibly IJ, you never know when that will start working) when you post your fic if you want comments delivered to you. (MC used to receive comments to all jolly_old_elf posts in her email and forwarded them to you. Now that the track feature is available on LJ, she won't be doing that anymore for LJ comments.)

Finally, if you have any questions that you'd like passed along to your recipient, any questions about how to post, or anything else you need to let significantowl and I know, this is a great time to do it. I'll screen comments to this post so you can write us right here.
