QUIDDITCH TRYOUTS!
Quidditch tryouts were this weekend (assume there were various fliers and announcements previous to this. We forgot, sorry. Saturday Morning was Gryffindor, Sat afternoon was Hufflepuff and then Sunday morning Ravenclaw and afternoon Slytherin. Comment under the relevant heading if your character attended and how well they went! |

We know some people have not received their B letters yet so we will leave that drop box open for a couple more days as we have contacted everyone and most intend to post their letters shortly. If B letters still haven't been received in a couple of days we will do some reshuffling and get back to those affected but obviously we will try make this as minimally disruptive as possible. too lazy and tired to make this pretty so here are highlights of social club, for those who care
• yes, there were cheese danishes. also macaroni and cheese balls, mini quiche, pigs in a blanket, bowls of pretzels and potato chips, strawberry lemonade and regular lemonade, warm croissants and spinach puffs (for the vegetarians/vegans).
• cat re-introduced herself and gave a little speech about being grateful to be taking the reigns this year as student leader of social club and how she hoped to do the club proud.
• she presented a series of ideas for events including weekly sunday brunches in the common room, organized games of football or pickup games of Quidditch once a month, and a back to school party. she took suggestions for ideas about when to host the party and how to throw it and also where
• she also took suggestions for other event ideas for the month of september
• she wrapped up by bringing out a cake made of cupcakes for everyone and joked that she's clearly trying to fatten everyone up for the first meeting of the year

Everyone who hasn't responded to the Alchemy announcement will find that their journals will start pinging again at 9am today. There are no clear instructions on how to get it to stop, writing in the network won't work, and characters will have to figure out that it's only by checking "Yes" or "No" that will finally silence the noise.
Of course, everyone who already replied will enjoy blissful silence from their journals! |

All across the UK, school-issued journals unlock and begin pinging. The longer they are ignored, the louder they ping and will only quiet at the taste of ink.
Upon opening, each character will FUCK IT THIS IS THE OPENING POST I AM TRYING TO GET IT DONE BUT YOU GUYS ARE SO IMPATIENT - Cilla
Upon opening, each character will find the following:
- Their OWL results repeated at the beginning of their journal under the results section.
- An announcement stating that given enough interest, a NEWT-level Alchemy class is on offer for any student who has achieved at least 1 Outstanding in their OWLs. You will be asked to check "Yes" or "No" with a disclaimer that checking yes will not guarantee the class will go ahead. Anyone who has signed up for 6 or more classes will be asked to elect a class to drop if they want to take on Alchemy.
- Also in the announcement section are the Club Student Leaders! Congratulations!
Also, because I realise it wasn't clear earlier, the journals have the following sections, in order:
- RULES
- ASSESSMENTS (where major homework assessments will be posted, so not random essays issued after class but the stuff that counts to your final grade)
- RESULTS
- TIMETABLE
- ANNOUNCEMENTS
- BEHAVIOURAL RECORD (where your points awarded, lost, warnings and detentions will now appear!)
- NETWORK.
If you want to slot any of these into your actual character journal just to be a super-nerd, feel free!
