Fic?
Dear Clockwork,
Fortuna-mun should not be allowed to write cute that makes people melt.
[Begin fic]
Night-time. Usually a quiet time. Not so tonight. This night, a small fox was running through the city streets, heading for one of the parks with that really big hill that he knew of. Twin tails spun like mad, making him go faster. A little yellow Chao followed after him, singing in that way that Chao do.
Behind them the hotel loomed, an impressive sight by itself, with its odd fifty floors on the wing B side. But the fox wasn’t interested in that.
It was the first good, clear night in awhile. And Tails had stumbled across something on the internet on his laptop, mentioning a meteor shower. There were a lot of words he didn’t understand, but he did figure one thing out. Meteor showers meant shooting stars. And thus, after posting about it, he’d taken off, TJ the Chao following afterwards.
He finally made it to the park and hoofed it up the hill with a grin, panting a little from the run. He couldn’t miss this after all! Though, it wasn’t due to start for a little bit, so he sat under the tree nearby and watched the sky, chatting with TJ about the stars.
“Oh, Tails!”
“Huh?” the fox said eloquently at the sound of his name, turning and spotting the young rabbit coming up the hill. “Oh, hey Cream!” he said happily, getting up, tails swishing happily.
Cream came up beside him and looked up at the sky. “I saw your journal. You really think there’s going to be shooting stars tonight?” she asked, brown eyes wide. The fox grinned and looked up as well.
“Yup! Th’ site I found said it was gunna be tonigh’! An’ this is th’ best spot, I think, for lookin’!” he explained, rather quickly. Tails’ speaking tended to accelerate alarmingly when he was excited. TJ landed in-between them, looking up before alerting them with a loud “Chao!” to the first star.
Both the young Mobians “Ooooooo”’d at the star shot across the sky, before several others followed it. “I wonder what they are...” Cream asked quietly, watching the star-filled sky.
Fox and rabbit both jumped a little as someone else answered. “It’s material from space that’s falling towards us.” The younger two looked up and it was Cream who first spotted the hedgehog sitting in the tree branches, also watching the sky. He was hard to spot, since his green quills blended well with the leaves, but she could just make out the mess of quills. “Manic!”
The hedgehog grinned down at the two as Tails spotted him and waved happily. He then turned his attention back to the sky and the meteor shower. “Rocks fall from space and burn up, because they travel too fast. And that’s a shooting star!”
The younger two thought on this, Cream watching the sky as she did. Tails checked on TJ, who was curling up for a nap on one of his tails before looking up too. Then sitting down and tugging the Chao into his lap, watching the sky. Cream blinked as he moved and watched, then sat down as well. “They’re pretty...”
“Yeah...” the fox agreed quietly, watching. “Y’know, you’re s’pposed to make a wish on shootin’ stars,” he said suddenly as he remembered, hands going together and bowing his head for a moment, Cream copying him. The fox grinned as he looked back up. “A wish o’ mine came true b’fore when I wished on a star. Wonder if this one will too?” Cream listened and thought for a moment. “I think it will, Tails.”
Manic watched from his spot in the trees, but kept one eye on the two, noticing after awhile when Tails began to yawn and nod off. He’d take them both back to the hotel in a moment. But for now, gold eyes turned back to the shooting stars and listened to the quiet of the night.

Fortuna and so not Manic.
