Classes had just started, thankfully she'd only had two so far, but even still she had homework. There were papers that were due at the end of the semester, but she had always liked to get her work done ahead of time. Christine had already figured out her topics for the papers and written out her outlines. She was starting her new job tomorrow at the bookstore, so today was her last day to get some of her work done without distractions.

Grabbing a cup of Veranda blend coffee, made with two sugars and cream, and a sandwich, she took a seat at a table in the back corner and set up her laptop. With her good ear out to the rest of the cafe, she was sure to hear anyone speaking to her without a pause. However, twenty minutes into researching and it felt like she was in her own little world. So engrossed in her reading, Christine didn't even hear the other person come up to her or ask their question until they tapped on her table. Her head popped back in surprise and a blush crept over her features. "I'm sorry... I got lost in research. What did you say?"

Tamsin had also just started classes, she worked at a local coffee shop further into the city. It had been her personal choice not to work closer to the campus and ultimately she had done it in order to ensure she was walking enough. Though her flare-ups could leave her in pain for what felt like days, forcing herself to exercise as well as focus on stress management helped her considerably. And so every further walk down the block meant a possible delay between her next episode.

That day she was studying in the bookshop when she recognized one of her classmates walk in. She had forgotten her book for that class, she suddenly recalled and idly chewed on the pout of her lower lip as she studied the girl from across the room. Tamsin decided to take a chance and go introduce herself in hopes that perhaps the other would have the book she needed to finish her reading, and, if she were lucky, perhaps a conversation. Gold hair framed the other girls face as Tamsin smiled and recoiled her palm from the table. She herself had olive colored skin with hair so dark it was nearly coal.

“Hi, Christine, yes?” Tamsin lifted her palm to gesture toward herself. “I’m Tamsin Flint, I don’t think we’ve met yet, we have a class together.”
