[ Jun 15th, 10 5:49 pm ] weapon_x23 Hey everybody! My name is Mikey and I'm playing Laura Kinney aka X-23 in our little game here =) Laura's a bit different from how she is in the comics. She's much more of a person. She has her problems just like everyone else but she's making due with what she's given. Laura's sworn off killing since escaping from The Facility and she makes her living as a Bike Messenger by day and Thief by night. She's not a villain though, she's pretty neutral. She steals only from those who deserve to have their stuff taken and never ever hurts anyone in the process if she can help it. Laura doesn't really care one way or the other about heroes or villains. All she cares about is herself and making sure she can survive. She's still paranoid that Weapon X is after her so she keeps a pretty low profile whenever she can. If backed into a corner, kitty will let her claws out but will never kill anyone unless absolutely forced to. Laura is by no means a happy person, she still has those demons in her closet that she can't seem to get rid of. She projects a very apathetic attitude toward most people but deep down she is just afraid of letting anyone get close to her again. I'm open to plotting with just about anyone XD. Laura is a bit of a bitch toward most people but keep pushing and she'll eventually give in. She would likely have contacts in the District X underworld so villains and heroes alike would have reason to want to be buddy buddy with her. [ Jun 15th, 10 1:33 am ] pink_pixie Hello everyone, I'm Crys and I'm here because Erin said that she told everyone I was stinky and I had to come to support my honour and vanilla-scented goodness! I'm bringing to you one Megan Gwynn aka Pixie. She's recently turned 18, recently had her mutation activated, recently been booted out on her butt (from home and school) and been sent to the mutant district. That whole pink hair and wings thing is a bit hard to hide for her. She does have a job at least, she's a messenger/delivery girl and she's been allowed to sleep on the couch at work until she can find something better. She's also trying to figure out how to deal with that last two months of high school she's lost. Personality wise, well, she's bubbly, bright, friendly and cheerful. She's loyal, naive, gullible and tends to annoy people by trying to cheer them up whether they want to be cheered up or not. We'll see how things work out. But I'll say probably not for a while, I'm a bit swamped with a lot of things. Regardless, hello! I'm reachable at Weekend Renee on AIM, but I'm shy so you'll have to give me some time. Or a group chat. I'm chatty in those sometimes. XD ANYHOW! So. Remy LeBeau. Remy, Remy, Remy. He doesn't really have a job. He's a thief. So he has a lot of spare time. He spends that all around NYC. He really likes Genosha and Hell's Fire. The former gets him a lot of jobs, the latter, well. Need you ask? He's probably gone to Chows, too. And Blackbird. Jazz = <3. Remy's a mercenary for hire who will do anything but kill others. He swings to both sides, and does plenty on his own: like blowing up BP headquarters. And gas stations. There's been plenty of articles lately about BP gas stations getting carefully bombed - the clerks getting knocked out and dragged out and the stations falling in on themselves and the gas pumps remaining in tact - Remy really can't stand any more deaths on his hands. He avoids Brooklyn and the Bronx like the plague since he betrayed the Marauders and got several Morlocks killed. He's outwardly outgoing and friendly and really forward, especially with pretty ladies. While for the most part, he likes the part of the extrovert, he hides a lot of guilt and while tipsy he's more outgoing (somehow), completely drunk it's all he can think about. He can really hold his alcohol, though, so it doesn't happen often. Uhm, I ramble. I think that's apparent. I will stop going on here and link his profile. Feel free to skim! I'm looking for anything, really. Remy goes by Gambit when he's "on the job" and leaves calling cards. On cards. [ Jun 14th, 10 3:00 pm ] arsonforanarchy Hello, hello! Erin here, bringing you my two boys, Northstar and Pyro at trykeepingup and arsonforanarchy respectively. John was a full-fledged, proud member of the Broho back in the day, and very enthusiastic about the sorts of destruction he caused at that point in his life. He still has strong loyalties to Magneto, despite the fact that the guy isn't around anymore, and to several other members of the Broho who are still around and kicking. While it's likely everyone in the group knew him on some level, not everyone who ran with Mags knew his real name, or even saw him outside of his suit. It's likely that there are several characters who managed to avoid getting caught who were in the group who know who he is, and I'd be glad to help establish if your characters would be among those. Also, if there are Brotherhood characters running around now who were nabbed by the authorities/publicly outed, John will be avoiding them like the plague. Considering he's still somewhat "active", he'd rather not get caught just for associating with any "knowns". Currently, John is working at Chow's Diner, mostly on the late afternoon/night shift. The boy would love some guy friends (potentially a future Avalanche, Juggernaut, Blob, or Toad would be fun), but for the moment he's happy to have his harem of girl buds. Anyone who knew him in the Broho days would likely notice that he's sort of settled down a little bit with the Chow family. Characters in general will likely hear news stories of John's handywork in the form of impressive acts of arson, and often fatal attacks against well-known, in-the-spotlight mutant haters. JP is the bartender at the jazz club, Blackbird. He's sort of a cheeky asshole sometimes, but he's not a bad guy, and is actually pretty willing to help others who need genuine assistance. He's got mixed feelings about the whole "costumed heroes" thing, but mostly because he wishes people were brave enough to do the same things without suits and masks. He does, however, play favorites, and it's likely that there will be a few heroes that he's actually rooting for. Back in the day he was a photographer, when X-Man and Mags were still running around, so if anyone had heroes hopping to the rescue at that point and would like to have a bit of a "I used to take your photograph all the time" type thing going on, it would at least be fun. The boy also needs friends in general, m'thinks. JP doesn't have too much going on right now other than work and attempting to quit smoking, but in the future he'll likely be willing to assist some heroes in some way or another. He might even suit up himself eventually. I'd love all breeds of plot for either of my boys, and you guys can find me pretty easily on aim at Carpe Steakum. Why hello thar! [ Jun 13th, 10 10:22 pm ] deviled So I've read all the profiles and I'm completely intimidated and floored that my lame ass gets to play with ya'll. Ahem. I play Illyana Rasputina and Vanessa Carlysle. Illyana is a casually smashy little thing. It's probably not a good idea to try mugging someone while she's around. So if someone wants to entertain the socially challenged In Limbo We Say Hello By Punching Each Other in the Face expat, be my guest! :D Okay, so they probably don't punch each other in the face... more like threaten each other with poinky things. I mean, she mostly knows better than that, she's been socializing with other foster teens in a halfway home! On second thought, she probably hasn't learned much better than that. >> Nessa is very neurotic. Her old boss has been letting (fake) information slip through criminal contacts so that just about everyone who's interested in such topics like, "Where is Mags? What happened to X-Man?" might be interested in finding a whitey-blue metamorph, not to be confused (or maybe to be confused!) with that other blue metamorph. love comes around~~ [ Jun 13th, 10 5:15 pm ] skinhusks Hey there! I'm Jay, and I'm bringing in HUSK and MASTERMIND to the game! :D And can I just say how excited I am? It is hard to start any game, let alone an x-men one! And we finally have a solid player base. Thats so awesome! But anyways, to the characters. skinhusks Paige Guthrie is a heroine, for obvious reasons. She is extremely competitive with her brother, Samuel (who I hope may come in so these two can be a pair!), but she generally cares about the city she lives in, and has decided to do something about all of the crime it receives. Paige doesn't have a costume, unfortunately. Her body will rip whatever she does wear while transforming, so usually she runs around the city naked. Husking her skin is always hard after that, as she is extremely nude -- so she makes sure to either take off her clothes before she changes, or only husks in one of her personally deemed "safe zones". Paige is a student at NYU by day, and also manages the school library (paid student workers are the best, aren't they?) masterminder Jason Wyngarde is a villain, but that term has been used so harshly, he probably isn't what you might assume he is. Mastermind is an opportunist at best, abusing his mutation for more crime related activity. Sure, he robbed a bank to fund Hell's Fire, but he did it for something that has a purpose! He also supports the prostitution, drug and sex trafficking of others into the city and district x. Hell's Fire also has a dungeon below, though you probably wouldn't know this. He hasn't been confronted by a hero-type yet, though hes never satisfied, and just might have to sneakily jack some more funds! Being able to cast illusions and swipe memories is really useful. But, as you can see he only supports criminal activity. Definitely not a "JOKER/MAGNETO" type. WELCOME TO HEROISTS! [ Jun 13th, 10 4:24 am ] heroists Hey everyone, and welcome to the OOC Community for HEROISTS! At long last the ribbon cutting ceremony is upon us! Feel free to break the ice by making an intro post here, introducing yourself, your character(s), and any potential lines to get the ball rolling! The FAQ has been updated, so check it out for information about how journals work in-game and how to thread! Also check out the ever useful Reference List, Player List and Cast Page for some pretty pictures and quick and easy guides to information. Jay and I are super excited to kick this game off, and it’s been a lot of fun plotting and chatting with all of you this past week. We have a great team so far and a growing cast of players and characters. We hope you all enjoy your time here at Heroists, and most of all, have fun.
